Keeping hydrated in the heat isn’t easy, and if you are trying to avoid very sweet sugary drinks, it can feel like there is little choice. Try this refreshing lime and strawberry fizzy summertime drink to keep you healthy and hydrated, or some of the other Dietwise ideas to spice up some ice cold tap water!
Sugar free lime cordial
300ml diet lemonade
Blend the strawberries, a dash of lime cordial and lemonade until frothy. Pour into a jug and pop in a few ice cubes. Decorate with
strawberry slices and a mint leaf.
Or try spicing up a glass of water…….
• Herbs and extracts – mint and vanilla are great way to make water interesting. Crush them a little then infuse with warm water and then pour over ice. Strain. Try adding flavourings to a bottle of water and chilling this in the fridge overnight to soak up the flavours. Enjoy with ice and a fresh sprig of mint.
• Lemon and lime – try squeezing these into the water and add a slice to the top for a zesty kick
• Cucumber – slice and add to a cold pitch of water – very refreshing…
